Wili Fernandez Design Monograph

print / publications, filipino, arts, book, culture

A monograph on Wili Fernandez, a pioneering Filipino interior designer whose work spanned hotels, restaurants, offices, and corporate identity systems across the 1960s and 70s.

The cover scales up his own logo mark, transforming it into sweeping abstract forms. The deep reds and oranges are colors I associate strongly with his work and his world.

Inside, the book moves through his portfolio in sections, each color-coded and supported by a cross-reference index for navigating his wide-ranging output. His own sketches serve as section dividers, keeping his hand present throughout. The front matter frames the book as both biography and tribute, opening with personal recollections and a portrait before moving into the work itself.
