Coral Reefs / Twilight Zone Exhibit
exhibit graphics, environment, filipino, non-profit, learning, information design, branding
The _Coral Reefs of the World _exhibit and the inaugural Twilight Zone gallery sit next to each other at the California Academy of Sciences, covering two connected but very different underwater worlds.
The coral reefs section draws from oceanographer Sylvia Earle’s description of reefs as ”a jeweled belt around the middle of the planet.“ Large-scale macro coral imagery blooms across dark walls, with circular graphic panels echoing the organic forms of the reef. The Twilight Zone called for something different—layered topographic shapes in deep blue, evoking pressure and depth, drawing visitors into less familiar territory.
